Don't give your animal different food than they would normally get.  Giving them foods that are unusual to them may cause abdominal pain, vomiting or diarrhea.

Dispose of aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and wax paper from foods.  Your pet might try to lick the food off of the wraps and ingest part of it.  This can cause an intestinal obstruction.

Secure your garbage.

Turkey bones are dangerous to your pet. 

Any brittle, spikey bone could lodge in the esophagus or cause an irritation of their stomach or intestines.

Keep chocolate away from your pet.

Keep your pet home and away from large crowds.  Your pet may get stressed or lost in a crowded area.

Give your pet a quiet space to rest or settle down away from Thanksgiving festivities.
